His first skateboarding adventure was on the streets of Imperial Beach(South San Diego, late 60's) riding a Hobbie 27" with Clay wheels and chicago trucks. Going up and down curbs, 360's were the highlight of tricks back then.

His military careered father was then stationed in Michigan and the family reluctantly went to the blistering cold winters and hot muggy summers. After playing football and basketball, junior varsity to varsity years, Chris headed back to San Diego to resume his surfing and skating days in 1974. With the help of his oldest brother Ed, Chris enrolled at San Diego State and got a part-time job at PB Surf Shop near Mission beach.

His first board back in San Diego was bought from Joe Roper at San Diego Surf Shop near Crystal Pier in Pacific Beach. 27" Pintail shaped solid oak board with suregrip trucks and cadillac loose bearing wheels.

In the upcoming year, Chris took downhill first place championship at The Kate Sessions City Championships in 1974. Doug Salidino, Greg Weaver, Steve Cathey and many other upcoming skate stars were present. And then in Del Mar National Skateboard Contest, Chris took 1st place in the downhill slalom race narrowly edging out his good friend Danny Trailer. Then the next contest at the San Diego Jack Murphy Stadium, was a CBS Sport Spectacular event World Slalom contest in which he clean sweeped the competition for the World Championship.

Chris continued with his schooling and worked at Tracker Trucks as a jobber traveling to LA getting parts machined and ran into an old High School girl friend that convinced him to move to Michigan.

In Michigan Chris continued working for his computer science degree and started a skateboard distribution outlet with Don Thomas Sporthaus in Detroit. Chris promoted skateboarding as a Pepsi Team Skateboard member traveling to schools promoting skateboarding with freestyle demonstrations as well as educating the masses on skateboard saftey.

From Michigan, Chris traveled to Colorado and became employed with a software engineering firm which took him to Germany. While in Germany, he met the Italian and French downhillers.

After 2 years of Germany, he returned to Denver and headed out for San Diego once again with a family of 3 in the late 80's. Now with 2 houses in San Diego and a web business, he maintains a new outlook on his business life desiring to work for himself. He figures in 2-5 years his web business will be a full time responsibility. In the midst of the tough internet market daily dog-eat-dog world, his favorite outlet is skating both vert and downhill. Promoting skateboarding as a high school level competitive sport is high on his list as well as promoting more managed skateboard facilities.
